SOCAR Kulevi oil terminal announces transshipment volumes

Black Sea oil terminal of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) in Kulevi (Georgia) transshipped 17 million metric tons of oil and chemical products since 2008, said a statement posted on the official website of the LLC.

The report said that of the total volume of cargo handled by the terminal 31.7 percent accounted for motor oil, 22.9 percent - crude oil, 39.9 percent - gas oil, 4.89 percent - diesel with ultra low sulfur and 0.45 percent accounted for such products as jet fuel, propylene and methanol.

The terminal in Georgia's Kulevi was commissioned in May 2008 and the oil transhipment started in June of the same year. The total capacity of the terminal is 10 million metric tons of bulk-oil cargo per year, three million metric tons of oil, three million metric tons of diesel fuel and four million metric tons of fuel oil.

The total capacity of the terminal's tank farm is 320,000 cubic meters with the possibility of reaching 380,000 cubic meters.
