Kazakh Ministry of Energy is not in negotiations over the Oman Oil company's leaving the Kazakh oil projects Pearl and Dunga, the ministry told Trend.
"At the moment, the ministry has no information about the Oman Oil company's plans in respect of shares in the projects Pearl and Dunga, the ministry said.
Earlier, Kazakh media reported Oman Oil's intention to sell its 20 percent stake in the projects Pearl and Dunga.
Deals involving the sale of shares in the oil and gas projects, located on the territory of the country, must be approved by Kazakhstan, regardless of whom is the seller and the buyer, according to Kazakh law.
The work is currently underway to choose the concept of development of the Khazar field, as well as to count the deposit reserves "Auezov" within the framework of the project Pearl, according to the ministry.
"Date of commencement of commercial production depends on the decisions made to choose the concept of development," the ministry said.
In total, since 2007, a significant amount of exploration work, 3D seismic exploration have been conducted at the contract territory Pearl and all structures have been explored by deep drilling, according to the ministry. The work has been carried out in compliance with Kazakh legislation in the field of environmental protection and occupational safety.
"With the end of the active phase of exploration work, the efforts of the project participants are aimed at addressing issues related to the upcoming development of deposits," the ministry said.
Pearl is an oil and gas project of Kazakhstan, the deposit is located in the Kazakh sector of the North Caspian Sea, 80 kilometers north-east of the port of Bautino of Mangistau region.
The field is located offshore of Kazakhstan at a water depth of 5 to 7 meters. Here the following promising structures were identified - Khazar-1, Khazar-2, Auezov, Naryn and Tulpar.
The oil and gas project Pearl is estimated at 100 million metric ons of oil, according to Kazakh geologists. Currently, KazMunaiGas (25 percent), Shell (55 percent) and Oman Oil (20 percent) work at the Pearl site.
Danish Maersk Oil (60 percent), Oman Oil (20 percent) and Portuguese Partex (20 percent) are the shareholders of the block Dunga, which is located on the coast of the Caspian Sea, 50 km away from Aktau.
