Uzbekenergo JSC, which unites enterprises of electric energy and coal industry of Uzbekistan, received a net income in the amount of 519.583 billion Uzbek soums in January-June 2016 that is by 4.6 times more than in the same period of 2015, according to the company’s report.
The company’s revenues increased by 23.2 percent – to 2.922 trillion soums, while the gross profit amounted to 729.183 billion soums (increase by threefold), income from the company’s main activities – 693.331 billion soums (increase by 3.3 times).
The reasons of such a significant increase have not been specified in the report.
Electricity output in Uzbekistan increased by 3.4 percent – to 57.6 billion kilowatt/hours in 2015 compared to 2014, according to Uzbekenergo. Meanwhile, power plants of Uzbekenergo produced 55.5 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity (growth by 2 percent) and the remaining part of the electricity accounted for other large industrial enterprises.
Electricity consumption amounted to 44.4 billion kilowatt/hours (increase by 3.5 percent) during the reporting period in the country and Uzbekistan exported 1.3 billion kilowatt/hours of electricity (decrease by 7.1 percent).
Uzbekenergo JSC was created in 2001 and the company includes 54 enterprises.
