Trading volume on Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) amounted to 11.16 trillion tenges in January 2017, which is by 24.7 percent more than in the same period of 2015, said the message on KASE website.
The trading volume in US dollar equivalent increased by 38.7 percent to almost $33.77 billion in this period.
Meanwhile, the January trading volume increased by 26.9 percent in tenge and by 27.7 percent in US dollar equivalent compared to December 2016 trading volume.
The volume of foreign currency trading on KASE, including currency swap operations, decreased by 0.6 percent and amounted to 5.62 trillion tenges in January 2017, as compared to the same period of 2015.
The volume of foreign currency trading in US dollar equivalent increased by 10.6 percent to $16.99 billion during the reporting period.
Meanwhile January foreign currency trading increased by 41.2 percent in tenge and 42 percent in US dollar equivalent compared to Dec. 2016.
In 2016 trading volume on KASE amounted to 94.55 trillion tenges, which is 2.8 percent more than in the same period of 2015. The trading volume in US dollar equivalent decreased by 35.7 percent to $276.27 billion in 2016.
