By Anvar Mammadov – Trend:

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Taxes expects growth of forecasts on tax revenues of state budget in 2018, Deputy Taxes Minister Sahib Alakbarov told Trend Oct. 12.

According to him, the possible increase in the forecast for revenues is related to the expected growth of the Azerbaijani economy in 2018.

“The parameters of Azerbaijan’s state budget for the next year have not been published yet, and discussions on it will begin soon. I think that the forecast on tax revenues will be increased. This is related to the fact that the economic recession has stopped,” said Alakbarov.

“I want to note the increase in revenues from the regions. Despite the fact that there people are mainly engaged in agriculture, which is almost completely exempt from taxes, the revenues from the regions increased by 39 million manats in September as compared to the same period of the last year,” he added.

Touching upon the fulfillment of the forecast on tax revenues of the state budget in 2017, the deputy minister stressed that the Ministry of Taxes intends to fully fulfill the task assigned to it.

“We have fully met the revenue forecast for nine months. It should be noted that the fulfillment of the forecast in the last three months is not easy. Moreover, as you know, the forecast on tax revenues for the current year was increased by 185 million manats. We may face some difficulties, but the tax authorities will work in full force to fulfill the revenue forecast,” said the deputy minister.

In January-September 2017, tax revenues to the state budget of Azerbaijan exceeded 5.22 billion manats that is 0.1 percent more than the forecast, according to the Taxes Ministry.

Tax revenues of the Azerbaijani state budget are expected to total 7.645 billion manats (or 45.6 percent of total volume of budget revenues) in 2017.
