Flight regularity decreased in Kazakhstan

The regularity of flights with the participation of representatives of Kazakhstan airlines and airports decreased during the 11 monthsof 2017 compared to the same period last year.

This was reported during a meeting at the Civil Aviation Committee of the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan on Dec.13.

Since early 2017, the regularity of flights in Kazakhstan was 87.1 percent, Air Astana recorded the regularity of flight at the level of 86.99 percent, airline SCAT - 89 percent, Bek Air - 94 percent, Qazaq Air - 82.8 percent, Jetisu - 94 percent, Zhezkazgan Air - 97.9 percent, South sky - 93.1 percent.

Compared with the same period of 2016, there is a decrease in the regularity of flights. So, in 11 months of 2016, the regularity was - 89.95 percent. At the same time, there was an increase in the number of regular flights performed by Kazakh airlines by 15 percent.

The main reasons for the delay in flights are: late arrival of the aircraft (2,844 flights), technical reasons (915 flights), difficult weather conditions (635 flights), reasons realed to passengers and cargo (431 flights), ground service disruptions at airports (200 flights).

Furthernmore, the planned repair work at the airport in Astana for 10 days and at the airport in Almaty from May to December influenced the regularity of flights. Only for Air Astana, the number of delayed flights for the two reasons mentioned was about 780 flights (which is 14 percent of the total number of airline delays).
