The US is developing a number of programs to strengthen economic cooperation with Azerbaijan, the US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Robert Secuta told Trend.
According to the ambassador, the three main spheres of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the US are economy, including energy, security and supremacy of law and democracy.
These three directions are mutually complementary and lead to increase in foreign investments, as well as to the strengthening of economic relations with the US.
In Oct. 2017, the US has sent to Azerbaijan the largest trade mission in the history of bilateral relations, Secuta said.
The US actively supports the Southern Gas Corridor project and Baku—Tbilisi—Kars railway, which is a part of the new Silk Road, he noted.
The ambassador added that the countries also cooperate in security sphere and that Azerbaijan hugely supports the US in its Afghanistan mission.
