Opening date of airport in Turkey’s Yozgat province revealed

An international airport will be commissioned in the Turkish province of Yozgat in 2020, a source in the country’s Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communications told Trend.

The source noted that currently, work is underway on the airport’s construction.

Two terminals will be built at the airport and one of them will be international, the source said.

The airport’s construction started on August 23, 2017. Total area of the airport is 206,604 square meters.

The project’s cost is 493.5 million Turkish liras.

The first airport in Turkey was built in 1912 and was used for military purposes.

For the first time the Istanbul airport was opened for international flights in 1953 and in 1985 it was renamed in honor of founder of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
