In April 2018, the number of vessels arriving in Turkey's ports amounted to 23,310 units, the Turkish Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication told Trend on May 11.
During the reported period, the number of ships that arrived in Turkish ports, flying the flag of Turkey, was 11,895, while the number of vessels flying flags of other countries - 11,415.
The gross registered tonnage of all vessels during the reported period was 267.206 million tons.
"The gross registered tonnage of vessels arriving in Turkish ports and flying the Turkish flag amounted to 49.45 million tons, and vessels flying the flags of other countries – 217.7 million tons," the ministry said.
