Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region reduced the number of taxpayer inspections, the representative of the State Revenue Department of Kazakhstan Kairat Orkashbayev said at a press conference, Kazakh media outlets reported.

The number of completed inspections amounted to 190 for the first quarter of 2018 year, which is 976 less, compared to the same period of 2017, according to the representative of the department.

"Our main focus was not on conducting inspections, but on control that could help the taxpayers independently correct the mistakes made," Orkashbayev said.

Based on the results of desk control, taxpayers made changes in the form of tax reporting (declarations) for 511 million tenges. The recovery amounted to 504 million tenges or 98.5 percent.

"We managed to achieve preventive measures by increasing revenues to the budget through additional taxpayers' declarations by almost half a billion tenges," Orkashbaev said.

As a result of the work done to identify unregistered individuals, 319 taxpayers have been registered as business entities for registration from the beginning of 2018.
