Uzbekistan to supply agro machinery to Turkmenistan for over $17M

Uzbekistan will supply over $17 million worth of agricultural machinery to Turkmenistan by April 2019, Uzbek media reported referring to Uzbek agricultural technology industry company O’zagrotexsanoatxolding.

“We plan to supply 100 cotton harvesting machines by the end of 2018, as well as 1502 cultivators, 600 fan and 200 stripper sprayers to Turkmenistan, a total of 2,402 units of agricultural equipment worth $12 million. In January-March 2019, another supply of agricultural equipment to Turkmenistan for $5 million is planned,” a company representative said.

According to the rep, O’zagrotexsanoatxolding enterprises produced 9243 units of agricultural equipment in 2018, including 3123 tractors, 379 trailers, 1104 units of tillage equipment, 672 cotton and 239 grain seeders, 556 cotton and grain harvesters, 1074 cotton cultivators and 2086 units of other equipment.

The technical policy of the Uzbek holding is aimed at expanding the localization of the equipment produced. In particular, work is underway to ensure localization of up to 30-40 percent. For this purpose, a program has been developed for a period of 3-4 years, consisting of three phases, which also include modernization of production.
