In January-November 2018, the companies of Kazakhstan produced rubber and plastic products worth 175 billion tenge, Trend reports citing Energyprom.kz.
This is almost 11 percent more than in the same period a year earlier.
More than half of all production in the sector is concentrated in three key regions: Almaty region (20.8 percent, 36.4 billion tenge, a 21.7 percent increase year-on-year), Almaty city (16.1 percent, 28.1 billion tenge, a 1.7 percent growth) and Astana city (13.4 percent, 23.5 billion tenge, a 14 percent increase).
In real terms, the production of rubber pipes and hoses increased by 17.3 percent year-on-year, and those of plastic by 16.8 percent.
The production of plastic sheets and films grew by 3.4 percent, and of plastic bags by 15.7 percent, while the production of plastic household items fell by 4.5 percent.
In addition, the production of plastic doors and windows and their hardware increased by 14.3 percent year-on-year.
