In the current Iranian year (started March 21), so far, the Abadan county of Iran's Khuzestan province has exported 15,000 tons of persimmons to the countries of the region, said Masood Khayatzadeh, head of the Abadan branch of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), Trend reports referring to Iranian media.

Khayatzadeh noted that in the current Iranian year, the county has so far harvested 60,000 tons of persimmons.

Taking into account the drought that negatively affected the harvest, the Chamber, in order to help farmers, strove to organize the exports of the county's persimmons, and succeeded, he said.

He added that persimmon is one of the most profitable products of the Abadan county.
