Uzbekistan offers Turkey to create joint transport company

Uzbekistan proposed Turkey to create a joint transport company and logistics center, Trend reports with reference to Podrobno.uz.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Badriddin Abidov offered this to the delegation of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives of Turkey during the negotiations.

The parties discussed a plan for cooperation in the field of trade and investment.

Abidov put forward a proposal to establish cooperation in the development and creation of a joint Uzbek-Turkish logistics company, attracting large Turkish investments to modernize the Urta Osiyo Trans Park as well as organizing an international, intermodal and multidisciplinary logistics center with large storage and refrigeration capacities.

The parties agreed to make every effort to implement the agreements reached upon completion of the negotiations.

Nowadays, Turkey is one of the most important trading partners of Uzbekistan. The volume of trade between our countries increased by 30 percent and amounted to $ 1.5 billion in 2017.

Furthermore, Turkey ranked fourth in the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in 2018. The volume of trade between the countries exceeded $2.1 billion, $936 million of which are Uzbek exports and $ 1.2 billion are imports.
