The agricultural complex “Buyan” in Turkmenabat city (Lebap region, Turkmenistan) produced 645 tons of dry licorice extract and 540 tons of thick licorice extract from more than 16,600 tons of licorice root, Trend reports March 6 with reference to the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
Also, over 2,700 tons of pressed licorice root were produced from the extracted raw materials.
Most of these products are exported, the report said.
The local licorice, which contains a lot of valuable micro elements, is considered one of the best in the world in terms of quality and consumer properties. The pressed root and semi-finished products from it are exported to the US, Europe and Asia.
The complex “Buyan” implemented a set of measures aimed at improving the quality of products, upgrading production based on innovative technologies.
