Iran’s 5 major excavation projects at their final stages

Some 5 major excavation projects on land and offshore fields of Iran are at their final stages, said Ali-Reza Layeji, Deputy CEO of National Iranian Drilling Company, Trend reports referring to the website of the National Iranian Drilling Company.

According to Layeji, the drilling of 7 wells in the Azar Oil Field of Ilam Province is in its final stage and will be handed over to the Sarvak Azar Engineering and Development (SAED) company.

Noting that this project was launched in 2012, Layeji said that the work with heavy drilling equipment has been completed.

In 2016, the drilling of 20 wells began in South Azadegan Oil Field of Khuzestan Province, and, the number of wells was subsequently increased to 23, with 17 wells undergoing development works and being handed over to the owner, according to the deputy CEO.

"Currently, 90 percent of physical progress has been made in the remaining 6 wells and they are expected to be handed over in June," he said.

Layeji also said that the work on the expansion of 3 wells and the repairs of 9 wells in the Arvandan Oil and Gas Company in Khuzestan Province was started in 2015, adding that 7 wells have been handed over and 2 wells will be delivered in 1-month time.

"14 wells in the 14th phase of the South Pars Gas Field have been handed over to the owner – Iran’s South Pars Oil and Gas Company, and 8 wells are undergoing development works," he said.

Work on the drilling of 14 wells in the gas field of Iran's Kish Island is also at its final stage, Layeji stated, going on to say that the company is implementing 2 excavation projects in Fars and Khuzestan provinces, with one of the projects having 8 wells and the second one having 6 wells.
