The percentage of electronic commence amounts to 2.9 percent of commercial operations on the Kazakh market.

“Over 1,700 of independent online stores already operate on the market and some 509 of them wish to obtain tax exemption. Furthermore, the number of active buyers has doubled and amounts to 2.3 million people,” the minister said.

“The increase of electronic commerce will influence the trade and development of related industries, including the transit. By 2025, it can increase the country GDP by 1.1 percent every year. The food online trade will increase by 64 percent by 2023 worldwide. The volume of food online trade in Kazakhstan amounts to 15.4 billion tenge, which is four percent of the online trade. Furthermore, the online trade has no territorial boundaries which can be very useful for Kazakh farmers who are entering new markets,” he stated.

Dalenov added that in the following five years, the number of parcels sent from China to Europe via Internet will increase up to four billion.

“Due to Kazakhstan's location between China and Europe, the transit volume is estimated to increase up to 864 million of parcels by 2025. This will allow for Kazakh companies to increase their profits from the current 132 billion tenge to 1.2 trillion tenge,” said the minister.

“Currently, some 20 electronic marketplaces are operating in the country. They allow over one million of small business enterprises to sell their goods. In the structure of the electronic commerce, 68 percent accounts for goods trade, while 32 percent accounts for services trade.
