Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed export contracts and agreements with total value of $82.2 million at a business forum in Termez, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by over 60 Afghan companies.
As part of the signed documents, Uzbekistan will supply its southern neighbor with petrochemical, textile, food products and construction materials.
Uztrade entered into contracts for $15.5 million, enterprises in Surkhandarya region for $ 15 million, Uzbekneftegaz for $ 11.5 million, Uztekstilprom association for $ 10 million, and Uzsanoatexport for $10 million, the Export Promotion Agency for $8.8 million, Uzkimyosanoat for $5.4 million.
Furthermore, bilateral talks were held with the delegation of Afghanistan, where the parties discussed the prospects for the accelerated growth of mutual trade with the help of the border trade zone.
