Georgia announces volume of investments received from Italy

Georgia has recently received $167 million worth Italian investments in various sectors of the economy, said Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, at Italian-Georgian business forum, Trend reports with reference to commercant.ge.

Therefore, the potential for deepening bilateral trade and economic relations is very high, she added.

Turnava pointed out that Georgia is pleased that the share of Italian companies in the country's market is constantly growing, and there are successful Italian companies that have invested in Georgia.

Tbilisi hosted the Italian-Georgian Business Forum on July 4.

The Forum was focused on the fields of strategic importance for Georgia's development, such as infrastructure, construction and engineering fields, energy and urban development.

The Business Forum was organized by Italian Embassy and Italy's Foreign Trade Promotion Agency (ITA-ICE) from the Italian side, and by Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, the Company “Enterprise Georgia”, and Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry - from the Georgian side.

The event was opened by Vice Premier of Georgia, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maia Tskitishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Nikoloz Alavidze and Italian Ambassador to Georgia Antonio Bartoli.
