The inflation rate reached 40.4 percent in Iran during the fourth month (June 21- July 22) of this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019) compared to the previous 12 months, Trend reports referring to Iranian Statistical Center’s report.
According to the Center, the price index reached 179.7 percent last month, which is 2.8 percent more compared to the preceding month.
Compared to the third month of the current Iranian year, in the fourth month, consumers spent on average 48 percent more money on goods and services.
The price index increased by 1.3 percent in the sector of food, beverages and tobacco products, and by 3.5 percent in the sector of non-food items and services.
The price change reached 71.8 percent for the first group and 38.4 percent for the second group.
