Trend:

Iran revenues and costs for current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019) are matched and, thus the country will not have budget deficit in current year, the head of Plan and Budget Organization of Iran said.

"The government seeks to improve the efficiency of planning and budgeting, which is defined in terms of reforming the budget structure," Mohammad Bagher Nobakht said, Trend reports citing ICANA.

"Although the estimated revenues will not be fully realized this Iranian year [started on March 21, 2019], since the expenditures are adjusted based on the revenues, the country will not have budget deficit in current year,” he said.

“By the end of the year, instead of planned budget for 4,480,000 billion rial ($106.6 billion) budget that was approved by parliament, it will be set at 3,860,000 billion rial ($92 billion),” he added.
