Russia may place high-tech production in Uzbekistan for export to third countries

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Alexey Gruzdev examined investment projects aimed at placing high-tech industries in Uzbekistan with the prospect of exporting products to third-country markets, Trend reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

The meeting of officials was held on the sidelines of the II International Investment Forum in the Jizzakh region of Uzbekistan on August 29.

During the talks, issues of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of trade and investment were discussed.

In particular, opportunities were considered to increase the number of joint projects involving Russian capital and the volume of mutual deliveries of high-tech products of the engineering, chemical, textile, electrical industries and other goods demanded in the markets of both countries.

The parties also discussed the issues of Russian investors already operating in Uzbekistan, on which effective solutions were worked out.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached to intensify cooperation between the two ministries through systematic joint work on an ongoing basis.
