Food products prices increase in Kazakhstan

The prices of food items in Kazakhstan increased by 6.1 percent, of non-food items by 2.9 percent, whereas the prices of paid services decreased by 0.6 percent during first eight months of 2019 compared to December 2018, Trend reports with reference to the data of Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan.

The inflation in the country during January-August 2019 amounted to three percent.

The increase of pricing is observed on millet by 48.2 percent, on rice by 20.5 percent, on flour by 16 percent, on bread by 9.4 percent, on noodles by 8.4 percent, on hard curd cheese by 6.7 percent, on bakeries and flour products by 5.7 percent, on tea by 5.3 percent, on confectionary by 4.2 percent, on fruit and vegetables by 4.1 percent.

Tobacco products prices increased by 10.3 percent, prices of of cold drinks by 9.6 percent, of alcoholic beverages by 5.9 percent.

In turn, the decrease of pricing is observed on eggs by 6.5 percent, on granulated sugar by 5.2 percent, on raw milk by five percent, on cottage cheese by 2.3 percent, on buckwheat by 1.6 percent.

Among the types of meat, the increase of process is observed on mutton by 12.7 percent, on frozen fish by 11.2 percent, on beef by 10.6 percent, on horse meat by 10.1 percent, on poultry meat by 8.7 percent, on pork by eight percent, on meat products by 6.5 percent, of sausages by 5.1 percent.

In turn, the decrease of pricing is observed on petrol by 4.5 percent, on diesel fuel and liquefied gas in cylinders by 0.9 percent.
