Iran can purchase medicines from India by using financial sources in this country, said India's Ambassador in Iran.

"The special financial mechanism between Iran and India based on rupee and rial can be a source to pay for Iran purchases including medicines," said Gaddam Dharmendra, Trend reports citing ILNA.

The envoy emphasized high quality of India's pharmaceutical products, which is approved by European standards.

"I hope Iran's importers and pharmaceutical companies will consider India as a good source to supply pharmaceutical products," he added.

"India's pharmaceutical industry is one of the biggest progressive industries in the world that exports products to European countries and other parts of the world," he said.

"In regards to current limitations, there is a good opportunity for pharmaceutical sector of the two countries to expand ties; we at Indian Embassy will support the cooperation and facilitate the process for two sides." he noted.

Due to the re-impose of US sanctions against Iran, there is a problem in banking transactions to import pharmaceutical products and raw material for them to the country.
