Volume of road cargo transportation up in Azerbaijan

In January-August 2019, Azerbaijan carried out cargo transportation by vehicles in the amount of $4.8 billion, which is 9.4 percent more compared to the same period last year, Trend reports referring to the country's State Customs Committee.
During the reported period, cargo transportation by vehicles in the country amounted to almost 2.4 million tons, which is 10.5 percent more compared to the last year.
The volume of exports done by road transport amounted to almost 903,000 tons (an increase of 28.7 percent) and $789 million (an increase of 18.6 percent) in monetary terms.
Imports during the reported period amounted to almost 1.5 million tons (an increase of 1.8 percent) and were worth a little more than $4 billion (an increase of 7.7 percent).
In general, during the reported period, Azerbaijan's total trade turnover amounted to $22.9 billion. The country's exports reached $13.5 billion, while imports amounted to almost $9.4 billion.
