Azerbaijan’s Baku Textile Factory is expanding its production capacity, Sakina Babayeva, the director of the factory and head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan, told Trend.

This includes opening a new building of the factory, which will be launched in the Binagadi district of Baku, she said.

“According to our calculations, the construction of a new three-story building of the Baku Textile Factory will be completed in February next year,” she noted. “Presently, construction of the second floor of the new industrial facility continues. Some 110 new jobs are expected to be opened here, and new production lines will be commissioned in parallel.”

She added that the new production facility is being built at the expense of the Baku Textile Factory’s own funds.

“In the future, in case of state support, we look forward to expanding production capacity, as well as the geography of textile exports,” she said.

Seven production lines are operating at the Baku Textile Factory and all function in continuous mode. In total, the enterprise employs 300 professional staff members.

The factory has been operating since 1939. It was the first one in the South Caucasus region in the field of textile industry.

The enterprise carries out its activities in accordance with European standards. It has the latest equipment and applies advanced technologies from Germany and Japan.

The factory’s production includes casual clothing, evening gown, children’s clothing, medical clothing, overalls, school uniforms, sportswear, all types of work clothing, promotional clothing and military uniforms.
