Azerbaijan’s Ganja Instrumentation Factory plans to increase production of water meters, since they are in the greatest demand both domestically and abroad, the factory's representative told Trend.

“Water meters rank first in the market by purchasing power parity, gas control points, as well as LED lamps, rank second,” the source added. “We plan to increase production of water meters by 15-20 percent by the end of 2019.”

The source also noted that from January to September 2019, about 80,000 water meters were exported to Georgia, Russia and Kazakhstan.

“At the same time, water meters are sold at very different prices, varying from 1,000 manat ($589) to 15 manat ($8.84),” the source said.

The factory is one of the biggest in the field of machine engineering and is engaged in the development and production of measuring instruments, automatic and automated control systems.

The factory’s activities are aimed at developing and raising the level of instrument-making in Azerbaijan.
