Kazakhstan's inland water transport increases cargo transportation by over 70%

Revenue of Kazakhstan’s inland water transport from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage amounted to 352.8 million tenge (approximately $905,894), which is 17.1 percent more than during the same period of last year, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh Statistics Committee.

Furthermore, revenue from transportation of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage equaled 99.6 million tenge ($256,259) in September compared to 70.4 million tenge ($180,768) last month. Compared to September 2018, this indicator increased by 51.1 percent.

As noted in the report, volume of transported cargo, luggage and cargo luggage from January through September 2019 was 1.101 million tons, which is 46.1 percent more than last year, whereas the volume of transported cargo, luggage and cargo luggage was 199,280 tons in September (increase of 70.3 percent).

Cargo turnover via inland water transport equaled 12.84 million ton-kilometers, which is 58.4 percent less than during the same period of last year. In contrast, cargo turnover during September was 4.2 million ton-kilometers, which is 32.3 percent more than last year.

Furthermore, value of revenue from passenger transportation via Kazakhstan’s inland water transport was 25.2 million tenge (approximately $64,706) during first nine months of 2019 and 1.2 million tenge (approximately $3,081) in September, which is 53.1 percent and 41.5 percent more than last year respectively.
