Iran continues to increase power production capacity of the Kerman Power Plant, by installing equipment, parts and upgrades, said the Managing Director of Kerman Power Generation Company Hossein Bahrololoom.
"The plant's production capacity is 1,912 megawatt and by implementing the upgrades and improvement plans it will be raised to 2,000 megawatt," said Bahrololoom, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Bahrololoom added that the power plant has eight gas units and four steam units.
"In order to prepare the power plant for peak hours in the next summer, overhaul of various gas units has started and in the current Iranian year (started March 21 , 2019) we are running major repairs," he added.
"Two committees are simultaneously working on research and domestic production to use the maximum capacity in providing parts and equipment to the power plant," he added.
"It's on the agenda to use the capacities of the domestic companies in Kerman and other provinces to provide parts for the plant," he said.
