Iran, Japan to cooperate in education and other spheres

Iranian Deputy Minister of Energy for International Affairs and Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) discussed development of bilateral cooperation in education.

Iranian Deputy Minister of Energy for International Affairs Mohammad Ali Farahnakian met with Chairman of JETRO Nobuhiko Sasaki on the sidelines of the Urban Water Management Center Conference in Tehran, Trend reports citing official website of the energy minister.

Farahnakian and Sasaki also discussed opportunities to organize training courses and specialized seminars.

"Following the negotiations, we are going to conduct five training courses and six specialized seminars in the field of water supply and electricity in cooperation with the Japanese side in 2020,” Farahnakian said.

Noting that the course subjects were provided by the Japanese side, Farahnakian added that the specified timetable for the regular conducting the courses will be approved within a month.

"We also agreed that in addition to conducting training courses in Japan, we could invite the Japanese trainers to our country," the deputy minister said.

Referring to the problem of global warming and Japan's experience in addressing the issue, he said that Japanese side has also agreed to help Iran to reduce fossil energy consumption in the construction of buildings.
