Iran discloses number of ships expected to be unloaded in northern and southern ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 11

Presently, 20 ships transporting 3,000-30,000 tons of main products are being unloaded in the Iranian northern and southern ports, Deputy Executive Director of the Iran Customs Administration Mehrdad Jamal Orounaqi said.

“Twenty more ships are expected to be unloaded in the ports,” the deputy executive director added, Trend reports referring to ILNA.

“From November 21 through December 7, 1.26 million tons of sunflower seeds were imported,” Orounaqi added. “However, this figure was 2.16 million tons in the same period of last year.”

“Some 1.04 million tons of rice were imported from November 21 through December 7compared to 1.03 million tons in the same period of last year,” the deputy executive director added.

“Some 1.12 million tons of vegetable oil were imported from November 21 through December 7 compared to 820,000 tons in the same period of last year,” Orounaqi added.

“Some 5.9 million tons of corn were imported from November 21 through December 7 compared to 6.1 million tons compared to the same period of last year,” the deputy executive director said.

“Presently, there are about four million tons of the products, mainly wheat, barley, corn, raw sugar, soy beans, rice and sunflower seeds in Iran's ports,” Orounaqi added.

There are also four million tons of equipment which is used in the power plants, road construction and mining operations.
