About 5,000 tons of seeds were processed at the newly built seed processing plants of the State Seed Fund under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture in Khachmaz and Sheki districts in 2019, chairman of the State Seed Fund Emin Aliyev told Trend.
“These two plants have been provided with the most advanced equipment produced by Turkey’s Akyurek company and are able to process five tons of seeds per hour,” Aliyev added.

The Sheki and Khachmaz seed plants were launched in 2019.
The seed processing plants consist of an administrative building, a seed center and warehouses for unloading seeds before processing and storage of finished seeds.
The laboratories that meet modern standards for examining seeds according to quality and yield parameters have been created in the plants.
The main advantage of plants is that seeds are processed with less loss and processing plays an important role in providing producers with high-productive seeds during the season.
The centers selling seeds of the Seed Fund are operating to provide farmers with high-quality seeds.
In particular, centers operate under the Toxumart trademark in Khachmaz and Zagatala districts. In these centers, one can order products from seed enterprises of the Seed Fund and other local seed producers.
