Azerbaijan’s Goychay Sud plant, a large milk processing enterprise located in the country’s Goychay district, significantly increased the production of cheese products from January through March 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, a source at the plant told Trend.
According to the source, during the reporting period, 25 tons of cheese were produced.
“In the past 3 months, the products worth 163,357 manat [$96,092] were sold in the domestic market,” the source said. “The production of this type of dairy products increased due to the opening of two new workshops in 2019.”
“Presently, our factory’s cheese products are in top demand in the domestic market and account for 60-70 percent of sales, while the greatest demand is for cheese under the Chanakh brand,” the source noted.
The source also pointed out that the enterprise’s product sales significantly grew.
“In April alone, 20 tons of cheese were sold, whereas during the 1st quarter of the year this indicator made up 25 tons,” the source added.
Currently, the plant produces 750-800 tons of dairy products annually, and of this, 400-450 tons account for cheese.
In terms of money, the enterprise produced dairy products worth 250,000-260,000 manat ($147,000-$152,900) in 2019, and it is planned to increase this indicator to at least 400,000-420,000 manat ($235,200-$247,000) in 2020.
The plant operates at full capacity and has been provided with modern Swedish and Italian equipment.
The plant’s products have a certificate of conformity issued by the Azerbaijani State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents.
