Georgia reduces import of medicaments

Georgia imported 219.4 tons of medicaments put up in measured doses, totaling $17.1 million to Turkey from January through April 2020, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

On an annualized basis, Georgia decreased the medicaments' export to Turkey by 238.9 tons.

Over the same period last year, 458.3 tons of medicaments put up in measured doses were exported by Georgia to Turkey for a total amount of $29 million.

Turkey ranks first in Georgia’s commodity circulation in the reporting period.

From January through April 2020, total imports from Turkey to Georgia amounted to $406.02 million. In turn, Georgia exported goods worth $63.27 million to Turkey.

The foreign trade turnover of Georgia with Turkey in the reporting period exceeded $469.3 million, which is 13.5 percent of Georgia's total trade turnover.
