Turkmenistan’s state concern, Japanese Sojitz mull joint chemical projects

Turkmenistan’s Turkmenhimiya State Concern and Japanese Sojitz Corporation discussed joint projects in the chemical industry, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The projects were discussed by representatives of Turkmenhimiya and Sojitz Corporation during a videoconference.

In particular, the parties exchanged views on the implementation of the Framework Agreement between companies on the construction of a workshop for the production of phosphorous fertilizers at the Turkmenabat chemical plant in Uzbekistan and noted the importance of the agreement implementation taking into account increase in Uzbek chemical industry's production based on advanced technologies.

A number of major projects have already been implemented with the participation of Japanese companies. In particular, they include construction of a plant for the production of ammonia and urea in Mary province, Garabogazkarbamid plant and a polymer compound in Balkan province, and a plant for processing gas into gasoline in Ahal province.
