The German Eastern Business Association (OAOEV) and Turkmenistan have discussed the UMAX Trade project, which envisages renovation of the country's water management sector, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The issue was was considered during a videoconference between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the leadership of The German Eastern Business Association on May 26, 2020.
The parties reviewed the positions of the relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan in implementing effective cooperation in the field of water management transformation of the country, as well as introduction of modern technologies into production.
The parties agreed to intensify all-round cooperation. Also, it was proposed to intensify video conferences between German companies and their Turkmen partners.
The conference participants also talked over the prospects of cooperation. According to the report, the Chairman of The German Eastern Business Association Oliver Hermes spoke about the bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan, as well as the recent developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He outlined the main directions of cooperation with Turkmenistan, and how the coronavirus situation may affect implementation of earlier agreements with the country.
