Uzbekistan aims to improve its position in international ratings

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 3

By Ilkin Seyfaddini - Trend:

The Government of Uzbekistan takes additional measures to improve the country's position in international ratings, as is reflected in the recent decree of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Trend reports with reference to information-legal portal Norma.uz.

According to the document, a new department for working with international ratings and indices will appear in the Justice Ministry.

The Justice Ministry has been instructed to ensure that this department is staffed with highly qualified specialists within a month.

The document also approved a plan of measures to reflect Uzbekistan's position in the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Index.

Over the past four years, Uzbekistan has risen 52 positions in the Heritage Foundation's Index of Economic Freedom, 19 positions in the Logistics Performance Index and 18 positions in the World Bank's Doing Business Index.

In the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's Classification of Country Risks ranking, Uzbekistan moved up from 6 to 5 country risk groups.
