Uzbekistan plans to significantly increase the number of food enterprises in the country, Trend reports citing Uzbekozikovkatholding company.
Despite the consequences and impact of coronavirus epidemic, Uzbekistan consistently continues to work on implementation of investment projects in the food sector, increasing the production of import-substituting and export-oriented products, the report said.
In the period from January through May 2020, 50 regional projects worth 268.2 billion soum ($26.4 million) were implemented with the support of Uzbekozikovkatholding company and investors.
According to the report, by the end of the year, it is planned to launch nearly 350 food enterprises within regional projects.
Uzbekozikovkatholding food company was founded in 2016 to increase the efficiency of export of fresh fruit, vegetable and other agricultural products of Uzbekistan.
