The refrigerated containers are Iran's top priority for increasing agricultural and food production, said Head of Commercial Service at Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) Ehsan Ghamari, Trend reports citing the organization's website.
According to Ghamari, local producers in Iran should take necessary steps to produce refrigerated containers.
Ghamari added that Iran needs about 5,000 refrigerated containers a year.
The official said that if refrigerated containers are provided, Iran's agricultural and food products exports are expected to increase.
The Iran exported about 7.1 million tons of agricultural and food products worth $5.82 billion in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
At the same time, 6.94 million tons of food and agricultural products worth $6.39 billion were imported.
