Iran boosts value of exports via North Khorasan Province

The products export through the customs of North Khorasan Province (northeastern Iran) increased by 16 percent in terms of value in the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20 - June 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of North Khorasan Customs Administration Javad Jafari said,Trend reports citing Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Jafari noted that 37,500 tons of products worth $9.3 million were exported during three months.

He added that the exports increased by 26 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last Iranian year

“The exported products via customs of the province were mainly urea, melamine crystal, alumina, metal products, rubber products, agricultural products and etc.,” he said.

The director general stressed that the products were mainly exported to Afghanistan, Iraq, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Italy.

According to Jafari, $13 million worth of products were imported to North Khorasan Province during the first three months of current Iranian year.

Of this amount funds, $10.8 million is for industrial equipment and the rest is for semi-manufactured products of factories,” he said.

The customs revenues of North Khorasan Province amounted to 38 billion rials (about $904,000) during three months. This is an increase of 90 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.
