Iran discloses value of exports via Mahabad customs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28

The products worth $2.74 million were exported via customs of the Mahabad county in the West Azerbaijan Province (northwestern Iran) during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20, 2020), Director of the Mahabad Customs Administration Ahmad Ahmadi told IRNA, Trend reports.

According to Ahmadi, the exports via customs of Mahabad county increased by 140 percent in terms of value.

Ahmadi added that more than 98 percent of the products were exported to Iraq and the rest to other neighboring countries, including Azerbaijan.

The official said that the exported products were mainly factory carpet and cement.

Mahabad county is located in the south of Iran's West Azerbaijan province and has nine customs of the province.

The province shares a total of 960 kilometers of borderline with Iraq, Turkey and Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
