Indian car part makers aim to establish production in Uzbekistan

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in India held talks with the chairman of UNO MINDA company, Nirmal Minda via videoconference, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo News Agency.

Nirmal Minda informed of the intention of the Indian company to establish production of automobile wheel rims and headlights in Uzbekistan, and in the future other demanded spare parts, the message said.

UNO MINDA is a company founded in 1958 to produce spare parts for cars, two- and three-wheeled vehicles. It has 62 production plants in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Spain, Mexico and Colombia.

Its headquarters are located in Manesar (Haryana, India). The company employs over 21,000 people. It has engineering, research and development centers across India. The company has an annual turnover of over $1.1 billion.

UNO MINDA announced about its interest to establish a base in Uzbekistan to meet the components demand in the Baltic region and CIS members countries in 2007.
