According to the number of hotel room bookings in July, the occupancy of hotels in Georgian Tbilisi stands at 4 percent, in Batumi - 9 percent, and in the regions - 14 percent, Trend reports with reference to TBC Research Group at Georgian TBC Bank.

In comparison with the previous week, the workload in hotels of Batumi and regions increased by 4 percentage points and 3 percentage points respectively.

“On July 3-4, in some hotels in the regions, congestion ranged from 65 percent to 85 percent. During July, the average daily price for hotel rooms in the regions decreased by 50 percent, and relatively small discounts are fixed in Batumi,” the report said.

In June, the year-on-year decline in the room prices (ADR) in the surveyed hotels equaled circa -30 percent for Tbilisi, circa -40 percent for Batumi and circa -50 percent for the regions.

The report notes that the non-cash spending on hotels marginally improved due to the domestic tourism. By now, the residents remain a sole source of the spending on hotels in Georgia.
