Russia, US purchase aviation kerosene in Turkmenistan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17

Entrepreneurs from Russia, the US, the UAE, Oman, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan bough aviation kerosene, hydrotreated diesel fuel and diesel fuel in foreign currency during an auction at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan last week, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

These countries also purchased polyethylene and high-density polyethylene produced at Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern in foreign currency.

In addition, businessmen from Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan bought denim and cotton yarn for foreign currency.

The total amount of transactions in foreign currency exceeded $19.7 million.

Transactions in Turkmen manat were also made on the exchange. Thus, entrepreneurs of Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan purchased cotton yarn worth more than 3.7 million Turkmen manat (over $1 million).

Furthermore, Turkmen entrepreneurs purchased high-density polyethylene produced by Turkmenistan’s Turkmengas State Concern and cotton fiber in the amount of over 1.6 million Turkmen manat ($471,527).

In general, 31 transactions were registered on the exchange over the past week.

The state commodity exchange of Turkmenistan was established on July 29, 1994. It is the most important agency of state regulation of export-import operations.
