Investments to be made in agriculture sector of Iran's Kermanshah Province

About 17 trillion rials ($404 million) will be invested in the agriculture sector of the Kermanshah Province (western Iran) in the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020 - March 21, 2021), Director of Agriculture Department of Kermanshah Province Nourbakhsh Hatami told IRNA, Trend reports.
Hatami emphasized that of this investment, 13 trillion rials (about $309 million) will be invested at the expense of bank loans and the remaining funds will be provided by the private sector.
Hatami added that 10 trillion rials (about $238 million) was invested in the agriculture sector of Iran's Kermanshah Province in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
"Of this investment, 7 trillion rials (about $166 million) was invested at the expense of low-interest loans and 3 trillion rials (about $71.4 million) by the private sector," he said.
The official noted that the territory of Iran's Kermanshah Province is 2.5 million hectares. Its more than 940,000 hectares are agricultural land.
Iran's Kermanshah province produces 4.2 million tons of agricultural products a year. About 125,000 people work in the agriculture sector of the province.
