Activities of Iran’s Imam Khomeini port revealed

A total of 2.77 million tons of cargo was loaded and unloaded in the Imam Khomeini port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) in the 5-th month of the current Iranian year (July 22-August 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO).

According to the report, 1.65 million tons of goods were loaded and 1.12 million tons were unloaded at the port in the fifth months.

During the reporting period, 1.38 million tons of goods were exported and 1.05 million tons were imported through the Imam Khomeini port, the report said.

“In addition, 23,200 tons of goods were loaded for transit through the Imam Khomeini port in the 5th month,” the report added.

According to the report, 206,000 tons of goods were loaded for cabotage, and 62,000 tons were unloaded within the same period.

About 220 tons of goods were loaded for transshipment in the 5th month.

As many as 41,100 tons were loaded for other purposes and 8,600 tons were unloaded.

“About 832,000 tons of essential products, 217,000 tons of metal products, 309,000 tons of construction materials and mining materials, 4,600 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts, 221,000 tons of chemicals were loaded and unloaded at the Imam Khomeini port in the mentioned period,” the report noted.

According to the report, 24,000 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, wood and other similar products, 72,600 tons of container products and 1.08 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at the port over the same month.

In total, 5.93 million tons of goods were loaded and 4.08 million tons were unloaded through Iranian ports in the 5th month.
