Iran reveals volume of cargo loaded, unloaded at Shahid Bahonar port

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 1

A total of 146,000 tons of cargo was loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) in the 5-th month of the current Iranian year (July 22 through August 21, 2020), Trend reports citing Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 133,000 tons of goods were loaded and 13,000 tons were unloaded at the port in the 5-th month.

During the reporting month, about 85,000 tons of goods were exported and 625 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port.

“As many as 125 tons of goods were loaded and 956 tons were unloaded for transit via the port over the fifth month,” the statistics said.

More than 47,700 tons of goods were loaded and 396 tons were unloaded for cabotage with in this period, according to the statistics.

In addition, 260 tons of goods were loaded for other purposes and 11,000 tons were unloaded, the statistics added.

According to the statistics, about 71,600 tons of essential products, 1 ton of metal products, 22,300 tons of construction and mining materials, 963 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded at the Shahid Bahonar port in the 5th month.

“Over the same period, 29,000 tons of leather, clothing, fiber, wood and other similar goods, 11,000 tons of container products and 39,700 tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded,” the statistics noted.

In total, 5.93 million tons of goods were loaded and 4.08 million tons were unloaded through Iranian ports in the 5-th month.
