Prices of basic imported goods should not increase in Iran

The prices of basic commodities, imported by foreign currency at the official rate (42,000 rials per dollar), should not increase, Iranian Vice President, Ishaq Jahangiri said, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
A meeting to review the issues related to essential goods chaired by First Vice President was held on Wednesday.
Pointing to the people's dissatisfaction with the increase in the prices of some basic goods, such as eggs, in recent days, Jahangiri stressed the need to sort out prices and closely monitor the market of basic goods imported by foreign currency at the official rate.
Jahangiri called on the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad and Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade to use various mechanisms to prevent the increase in the rise in prices of essential goods.
The reasons for the sharp increase in the price of eggs in recent days has been discussed at the meeting attended by the Minister of Agriculture, the acting minister of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, and the director-general of the Consumers and Producers Protection Organization. It was decided to control the pricing of this product in the market by imposing restrictions and duties on egg exports.
The price of each egg tray ( holds 30 eggs) in Iran has reached 300,000 rials ($7) in the market. The experts also said that the price of each egg tray may reach 500,000 rials ($12) by the end of the current Iranian year (end on March 21, 2021).
