Oil production volume down in Kazakhstan over 9M2020

The volume of oil extraction in Kazakhstan amounted to 64.7 million tons during the first nine months of 2020, which is 3.5 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Industrial manufacturing in the country amounted to the volume as of the same period of 2019.

Thus, the manufacturing of copper ore amounted to 80.6 million tons, which is 12.5 percent less compared to the reporting months of 2019. Manufacturing of petrol amounted to 3.3 million tons (increase by 0.3 percent).

Manufacturing of Portland cement was 8.4 million tons, which is 6.7 percent more than during the same period of 2019, and of flat metal - 1.9 million tons (increase by 15.7 percent). Production of gas oil stood at 3.5 million tons (decrease by 6.1 percent), and of electricity - at 78.2 billion kWh (increase by 1.4 percent).

“The production of metal ores increased during the reporting period, as well as the production of crude oil and natural gas decreased, and the production of food, tobacco, wood products, pharmaceutical products, and mechanical engineering. The production of petroleum products, chemical industry products, rubber and plastic products decreased. The increase in industrial production was observed in 12 regions of the country,” the committee said.
