Grape harvesting in Georgian Kakheti region at final stage

Grape harvesting in Georgian Kakheti region is at its final stage, Trend reports via National Wine Agency.

On October 13, up to 269,000 tons of various grape varieties have been processed in Kakheti.

Over the past 24 hours, 2,000 tons of grapes have been processed. Last night, 267,000 tons of grapes were processed in Kakheti.

Meanwhile, the Racha area currently processes more than 1000 tons of of Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties.

This year about 2,500 tons of the Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties are expected to be harvested in Racha. These are the grape varieties which are blended to make the famous semi-sweet Georgian red wine of Khvanchkara.

To support the grape harvest process in the region, a special coordination center for grape picking has opened in Ambrolauri, in Racha-Lechkhumi region.
